As one USFS contract is approved, the next one is started! Today I started the North Boundary contract in Bayfield County. It is a neat area with plenty of topography, however the timber is rather low-grade in the initail stand. The abundance of poor stems makes marking easier, however maintaining basal area at acceptable levels may prove a bit difficult. High temps brought a rather quick end to the day, however todays work was review and tally trees checked, all getting approval.
